We're underway in our 2012 SB Nation NHL Mock Draft.
The 2012 NHL Draft is just two weeks away, and as we prepare for seven rounds of drafting from Pittsburgh, Pa. on June 22 and 23, it's time for our annual SB Nation NHL Mock Draft. With help from our network of 30 team blogs, we'll simulate the entire first round of the NHL Draft, pick-by-pick, over the next two weeks.
Here's a full schedule:
June 11: Oilers, Blue Jackets, Canadiens.
June 12: Isles, Leafs, Ducks.
June 13: Wild, Hurricanes, Jets.
June 14: Lightning, Capitals (from COL), Sabres.
June 15: Stars, Flames, Senators.
June 16: Capitals, Sharks, Blackhawks.
June 17: Lightning (from DET), Flyers, Sabres (from NSH).
June 18: Penguins, Panthers, Bruins.
June 19: Blues, Canucks, Coyotes.
June 20: Rangers, Devils/Kings, Kings/Devils.
Should the Devils forfeit their first-round pick this season -- they must do so at some point in the next three seasons as part of their penalty on Ilya Kovalchuk's contract -- our blogger will also forfeit their choice in this mock draft. If we don't know of the Devils decision on whether or not to forfeit by the time New Jersey is set to select in our draft, we'll operate under the assumption that they're keeping the pick.
With that, the Edmonton Oilers are on the clock ... for the third year in a row.
