The Los Angeles Kings have proven this season that they're pretty savvy when it comes to social media and the Internet, but well .... whoops. Not today.
During Game 5 in New Jersey on Saturday night, the Kings were apparently unhappy that Devils staff took longer than usual to get the team official stats sheets. We don't know whether or not it was an intentional move, but the Kings don't really care. They're planning on giving the Devils a taste of their own medicine during Game 6 at Staples Center.
Via the Los Angeles Times, which received the following email from the Kings -- an email that was clearly intended to stay in-house.
"Jersey PR (whether it was their fault or not) didn't get stats to our locker room until about two minutes left in the intermission. Our coaches were not happy about this. So we are going to do the same to them tomorrow.
"So unless you hear otherwise from me make sure their locker room does NOT get stats UNTIL about two minutes left to go in the intermission. Even if you literally have to eye the clock and wait. If they ask what's taking so long just tell them our copy machines are down."
The copy machines are down. Sly move, Kings. Sly move indeed. We'll have to see whether or not L.A. actually goes through with this now that it's been leaked to the public.
