The Los Angeles Kings are 11/1 to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, but they're not the favorites to lift the cup in 2013.
It's the day after the conclusion of the Stanley Cup finals, meaning it's the best day to bet on the 2013 Stanley Cup winners if you really like gambling. Bovada already has odds for the 2013 Stanley Cup, and the Los Angeles Kings are currently the second-favorite to win next year's cup in a repeat at 11/1. They're going to enter next season with almost all of their key contributors from this season still on the team, but they're not the favorites to take the title.
That honor goes to the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are priced at 7/1. The Pens managed to finish with the NHL's third best record, just one point behind both the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks, even though Sidney Crosby was only able to play 22 regular season games. Pittsburgh entered the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs as the favorites, but their defense and goaltending let them down against the Philadelphia Flyers.
For those looking for some value, the Eastern Conference-winning New Jersey Devils are priced at 30/1, while the Washington Capitals have similarly long odds at 25/1.
