The NHL announced the host sites for the 2013 and 2014 NHL Drafts on Friday, hours before the the start of the 2012 draft in Pittsburgh. The New Jersey Devils will host the event at the Prudential Center in Newark next June, and the Philadelphia Flyers will host the following year at the Wells Fargo Center.
Both teams will be hosting the NHL Draft for the first time in their respective franchise histories. The 2013 draft will actually be the first ever held in the New York City metropolitan area, despite the presence of three teams.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are hosting for the second time in their franchise history (1997, 2012), joining Vancouver (1990, 2006) and Ottawa (2005, 2008) as the only teams to ever host the draft twice.
