No Lineup Changes For New Jersey Devils In Game 3

New Jersey Devils head coach Pete DeBoer confirmed Monday morning that he'll keep the same lineup for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, set for 8 p.m. ET Monday evening at Staples Center. The Devils face a 3-0 series hole should they lose, but they have pushed Los Angeles to overtime in each of the two games thus far.

"No changes," DeBoer said early Monday morning in Los Angeles. "We seriously consider lineup changes. We've got some depth there. We've got some good people that are available to us. I think the process we've gone through after every game is watch the tape, who can go in, come out, make us a better team.

"I don't think we're at that point. We don't need to panic, do that. I don't see that as a productive answer to where we're at right now."

Is DeBoer correct? Devils blog In Lou We Trust doesn't believe so.

The Devils arguably out-played the Kings during the latter stages of game 1 and most of game 2. A few lucky breaks here or there and the Devils could easily be going to Los Angeles up 2-0.

But they didn't get those breaks and can't just hope that those bounces will go their way. They've only gotten two goals so far this series, both from unlikely sources in Anton Volchenkov and Ryan Carter, and they need to do something to help them generate better scoring chances. Their top players do need to score, but they will take scoring and offensive creativity from anyone at this point.
