It's just like old times, but this time the stage couldn't be bigger. Mike Richards to Jeff Carter for the goal, and the Kings have a 3-0 lead in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The power play goal, in which Richards fed Carter from the corner for a tight shot that beat Martin Brodeur, has all but assured the Kings their third straight 3-0 series lead.
Oh, and if you had any further doubt, here's Justin Williams wrapping this one up even further. We hadn't even finished writing about the Carter goal before this Williams tally, assisted by Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar.
The Kings are just playing like a juggernaut. They were outplayed early in Game 3 and were probably the lesser team in Game 2, but the way they've come alive in the latter two periods of Game 3 has been impressive. Barring a miracle, the Devils are going to fall into a 3-0 series hole, and while Al Michaels might be in the house, he's an L.A. Kings season ticket holder. New Jersey is in trouble.
