Stanley Cup fever has officially taken over Los Angeles, as the Kings need to win just one of their next four games to hoist the Cup for the first time in 45 years of existence. That could happen as early as Wednesday evening when the team hosts the New Jersey Devils in front of the home crowd at Staples Center.
In preparation, somebody put in the hard work of erecting a giant Stanley Cup alongside the famous Hollywood sign.
Our initial thought was that this was a fake, but then we found similar looks from other angles:
Pretty awesome. We'd estimate the sign to be at least 80 feet tall -- if not higher. The letters in the Hollywood sign are 45 feet tall, and it looks like the giant Cup is just a bit less than double the size of the 'D' in Hollywood.
Regardless, this is awesome and we need to find out more about who did this.
h/t to the Kings, who are also looking for the genius or geniuses who did this
