The Florida Panthers have come to terms on a contract with Filip Kuba.

On Sunday afternoon, the Florida Panthers announced via the team's official twitter account that the club has come to terms on a two-year, $8 million contract with unrestricted free agent defenseman Filip Kuba. Kuba was originally drafted by the Panthers with the No. 192 overall selection in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.

The 35-year old blue liner has played for the Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning and, most recently, the Ottawa Senators (Kuba played the last three seasons in Ottawa).

Standing at 6-feet-4 and weighing close to 230 pounds, Kuba is a commanding force who will add depth to the Florida blue line.

Via the Panthers official website:

"Filip is an experienced player who adds further depth to our blue line," said Tallon. "He is a big, strong and responsible, shutdown defenseman who averaged more than 23 minutes of ice time per-game last season. We are confident that he will fit very well into our top six and help our power play. We look forward to his contributions to our team."

With the addition of Kuba, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Jason Garrison will not be returning to Florida next season.

Kuba has registered 63 goals and 228 assists for a total of 291 points in 719 career games in the NHL.
