Shane Doan wants to hear good news on the Phoenix Coyotes sale front Friday, but if he doesn't get the necessary assurance from prospective team owner Greg Jamison, he's going to begin looking elsewhere. Doan has visited with the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers to date, but it's unknown his level of interest in those two clubs. It's widely known that Doan would prefer to stay in Phoenix as captain of the only franchise he's ever played for.
Via the Arizona Republic, here's Doan's agent Terry Bross:
"I say there are three or four that he's very serious about," Bross said. "There's probably two more that he has a lot of interest in."
Should Doan choose to leave the Coyotes, he could have a new address quickly.
"I wouldn't be shocked if we had a decision next week," Bross said.
Bross also says that the Montreal Canadiens could be another team Doan visits on a trip to the East Coast either over the weekend or this week. Then again, if Doan hears the answers he wants from Jamison and other partners still attempting to close the Coyotes sale, he could simply sign another deal in Phoenix.
