With the future of the Phoenix Coyotes still floating in the ether, free agent Shane Doan has started to look at possibly signing with other teams. Add the Vancouver Canucks to the list of teams Doan has visited recently, according to John Gambadoro of KTAR (Phoenix). Appearing on CKNW's Sportstalk, Gambadoro reported that Doan was in Vancouver on Tuesday to talk with the team.
Doan previously visited the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers, but staying in Phoenix appears to be Doan's first preference. He has played his entire 16-year career with the organization (one year in Winnipeg, 15 in Phoenix).
The Coyotes' captain recently spoke with Greg Jamison, the potential buyer, but a potential sale remains just that. If something budges in favor of a sale happening, Doan is likely to stay with the team that has been home since 1995.
