Shane Doan, whose free agency has attracted wide attention around the NHL, has reportedly received a four-year offer from the Buffalo Sabres worth $30 million, according to reports.
The veteran, who has played his entire NHL career with the Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes franchise, is valued highly around the league at 35 years old. Doan has been making the rounds this offseason, meeting with the Vancouver Canucks earlier this month while the San Jose Sharks reportedly played the role of favorite for his services.
Doan has visited with the a variety of teams, including the Rangers and Penguins, in his search for a free-agent contract.
In 79 games played in 2011-12, Doan scored 22 goals and had 28 assists for the Coyotes.
If Doan were to accept the offer, his $7.5 million per year would be a Sabres team-high, according to NBC Sports. The Sabres are also close to the temporary cap.
