Chris Pronger Injury: Flyers Defenseman To Undergo More Tests

Philadelphia Flyers captain Chris Pronger will be returning to the team's practice facility in Voorhees, N.J., sometime next week to receive testing, according to a report by NHL.com.

Pronger has been inactive since sustaining a concussion on Oct. 25, 2011, during a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The six-time All-Star was hit in the head with a high stick from Mikhail Grabovski and was forced to spend the remainder of the season on long-term injured reserve.

Suffering from post-concussion syndrome, the 37-year-old still experiences headaches stemming from the incident and will not be taking the ice when he returns to Voorhees, according to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren.

Pronger signed a seven-year contract extension with the Flyers in 2009 and was named the 18th captain in franchise history in 2011. In 13 games as captain last season, Pronger registered one goal and 11 assists for 12 points.
