It was a long wait, but the words "Stanley Cup Champions" finally hang from the rafters at Staples Center.
The Los Angeles Kings have finally raised their Stanley Cup banner. They had to wait a bit, of course, through an entire offseason and a 113-day long lockout and then two weeks of prep time.
The ceremony was a bit long and the music choices -- Flo Rida, My Chemical Romance -- were a bit questionable, but after such a long wait, the Kings finally got a chance to do what they've waited to do for so long. They passed the Cup from player-to-player, they gathered, unveiled the banner and then raised it to the rafters of Staples Center.
Visual evidence:
They're pretty happy over at Jewels From The Crown.
