The Nashville Predators (1-0-2) will visit the St. Louis Blues (2-1-0) on Thursday night in the second meeting between the two teams in four days.
When they last met on Monday night, the Blues managed to tie the game at three with a little under eight minutes remaining in regulation. Following a scoreless overtime, St. Louis managed to earn the win by way of a shootout.
Colin Wilson, Mike Fisher and Patric Hornqvist all tallied goals for Nashville, while Vladimir Tarasenko, Andy McDonald and Alex Pietrangelo provided the scoring for St. Louis. Hornqvist and Tarasenko both registered a game-high three points in the contest.
Pekka Rinne was pinned with the loss for the Predators, while Brian Elliot earned the win for the Blues after relieving Jaroslav Halak, who allowed all three goals on 11 shots.
Since their last meeting, the Predators managed to register their first victory of the season when they defeated the Minnesota Wild by a final score of 3-1 on Tuesday night. St. Louis was also in action on Tuesday and registered their first loss of the season to the Chicago Blackhawks by a final score of 3-2.
Martin Erat of the Predators will be entering the contest with three-game scoring streak, as will McDonald, Pietrangelo and Kevin Shattenkirk of the Blues.
Thursday's game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., ET and will be televised on Fox Sports Tennessee and Fox Sports Midwest
