Jamie Benn has finally reached the last hurdle in his contract negotiation as he officially was approved for a work visa on Monday afternoon.

Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn will be making his 2013 regular season debut with the team on Monday night, as his immigration paperwork was officially approved by the United States.

Benn is a native of Victoria, British Columbia and needed to receive his work visa in order to be allowed to play in Monday night's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Now, the star forward will be permitted to do so, to the delight of Dallas fans everywhere, as Benn has registered an impressive four goals and three assists for seven points in 11 career games against Columbus.

The 23-year-old forward missed five games this season while negotiating a new contract with the Stars. On Jan. 24, the two sides agreed on a five-year extension worth $26.25 million.

Considered the key piece in the franchise's future, Benn has registered 70 goals and 90 assists for 160 points in 222 career games played.
