New Jersey Devils forward Adam Henrique is expected to make his season debut Thursday night against the New York Islanders.
New Jersey Devils forward Adam Henrique might be returning to the team's lineup for the first time this season on Thursday night, according to Rich Chere of The Star Ledger.
Henrique was seen participating in the team's line rushes during morning skate on Thursday, which is a strong indicator that he will be in the lineup against the New York Islanders. Skating as the fourth line center, Henrique was paired with Matt Anderson and Krys Barch.
According to reports from the session, Henrique and defenseman Adam Larsson have been inserted into the lineup, while Stefan Matteau and Mark Fayne will be scratched.
Henrique missed time while rehabilitating from surgery on his left thumb to reattach a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He originally sustained the injury while playing for the Devils' American Hockey League affiliate, the Albany Devils, on Nov. 28.
Originally hoping to return to the team in February, Henrique's addition to the lineup will be a welcome boost for the Devils.
