Los Angeles hosts Nashville tonight.
The Los Angeles Kings (2-2-1) will host the Nashville Predators (1-2-3) at Staples Center on Thursday night.
This is the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.
Nashville has had a frustrating start to the season. Despite being shutout in two of their last three contests, the Predators have remained competitive in all their games this season, with three games being decided by way of a shootout.
The biggest problem facing the team is their inability to produce offense. Entering Thursday night, the Predators are tied for the fewest goals scored of any other team in the league this season (10). Captain Shea Weber discussed this issue with Pierre LeBrun of ESPN on Wednesday and stated that the team needs to utilize their forecheck to create more production.
However, it might be difficult to find increased production against Los Angeles.
The Kings have allowed the sixth fewest goals of any other team this season (14) and strong defensive play has become a hallmark of their game. Much like the Predators, though, Los Angeles has struggled to score goals this season, tying for the second fewest goals for this season (11).
Ultimately, Thursday night could be a low scoring affair.
The game is scheduled to begin at 10:30 p.m., ET and will be televised on FS-Tennessee and FS-West.
