World Junior hockey 2013: USA, Sweden battle for gold

Team USA will challenge Team Sweden in the gold medal game of the 2013 World Junior Championship.

Team USA will challenge Team Sweden in the gold medal game of the 2013 World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia on Saturday.

Team USA will be entering the contest fresh off a dominating 5-1 victory over Team Canada in the semifinal round on Thursday. After struggling to generate offense against Canada and Russia in the round-robin portion of the tournament, Team USA has broken out of its collective shell producing a combined total of 21 goals over their last three games.

Team Sweden will be looking to defend their gold medal finish in last year's tournament.

After winning three of their four games in the round-robin portion, Sweden won Group A and disposed of Team Russia in the semifinal round of the tournament by way of a shootout.

Saturdays' game will be broadcast live in the United States on NHL Network at 8 a.m., ET and will be re-broadcast at 8 p.m., ET and 11 p.m., ET.

The game will also be carried live in Canada on TSN and will be re-broadcast at 3:30 p.m., ET, in addition to 10:30 p.m., ET on TSN2.
