Five NHL questions: Clutterbuck, Zatkoff to make debuts Friday

USA TODAY Sports

A daily feature which asks the five biggest questions about today's NHL action. Will they be answered? (That doesn't count as one of the five questions.)

1. How will the Blackhawks' bottom-six respond to their changes?

Chicago's top-six forward group remains unchanged, but head coach Joel Quenneville has decided to bump Marcus Kruger to the third-line and moved Brandon Saad from the left wing to the right. Kruger had previously been playing center but will now move to the left wing. Will this have any impact on the contest?

2. How will Jeff Zatkoff perform in his NHL debut?

The Penguins' goaltending situation is a point of interest this year and with Tomas Vokoun out indefinitely, Zatkoff has an opportunity to establish himself as a bona-fide NHL player. Will he make the most of his debut?

3. Will the Phoenix Coyotes struggle in the tail-end of a back-to-back?

The fourth game of a five game road trip, the Coyotes travel to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers on Friday night. Coming off a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, the Coyotes look to win consecutive games against a struggling opponent with plenty to prove.

4. Will the New Jersey Devils register their first win of the season?

New Jersey's western road trip continues on Friday as they take on the Calgary Flames. Calgary is off to a hot start despite low expectations and will look to extend their point-streak to five games. The Devils are still looking for their first win of the year, but have managed to register points in three of four contests.

5. How will Cal Clutterbuck perform in his debut with the New York Islanders?

Clutterbuck was acquired this offseason in a trade with the Minnesota Wild for Nino Niederreiter. However, a lacerated leg in the preseason has postponed his regular season debut, which finally occurs tonight. How will he do?
