John Tavares pulls tooth on bench

Andy Marlin

John Tavares had to pull his own tooth on the bench Friday night.

John Tavares is already one of the best players in the NHL and has a long, successful career ahead of him.

It also appears that he might have a future in dentistry once he's done with this whole hockey thing.

During the second period of Friday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Tavares was hit in the face by the puck and suffered some damage in his mouth. That resulted in Tavares popping out his own tooth on the bench.

And then he casually handed it to the trainer and never missed a shift.
