New York Rangers forward Rick Nash is still suffering from symptoms related to a head injury sustained last week, coach Alain Vigneault said on Monday afternoon.
Vigneault would not acknowledge what kind of injury Nash sustained, but it's believed to be a concussion that came from an elbow by San Jose Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart, which earned Stuart a three-game suspension from the Department of Player Safety.
Nash was unable to skate on Monday afternoon and a timetable has not been established for a return, via Blueshirts United:
"He's still feeling symptoms, so until I hear otherwise I don't expect him back," head coach Alain Vigneault said following practice in regards to Nash, who was at the practice facility but unavailable to the media.
Nash was sent back to New York last Thursday and has not practiced since.
Vigneault stated that the coaching staff will meet on Monday to discuss personnel moves and expressed a desire to infuse some skill into the lineup. This has led to speculation that the Rangers might recall Chris Kreider, Danny Kristo and/or J.T. Miller from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
