Prust sustained the injury during the third period of Saturday night's loss against the Nashville Predators. Prust was reevaluated on Sunday, where it was determined that he would miss about a month.
In addition to the injury to Prust, the Canadiens also lost forward Daniel Briere when he was hit by Nashville forward Erik Nystrom in the second period. Briere was unable to return to the contest and has already been diagnosed with a concussion. Nystrom did not receive a penalty on the play and will not face supplemental discipline from the NHL's Department of Player Safety.
There is no timetable for a return from Briere.
This marks the third-consecutive season that Briere has sustained a (diagnosed) concussion, which is a troubling development for obvious reasons. His production has declined over the past few years, while the injuries have consistently piled up. Briere is eight-games into a two-year, $8 million contract.
