The 27-year-old forward left the ice on Friday with about eight minutes left in regulation and did not return. He was held out of Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins as a precaution. After the game, Leafs coach Randy Carlyle indicated Bozak's injury would keep him out for at least 7-10 days.
Bozak's injury comes at a bad time for the Maple Leafs, who are already without forward Joffrey Lupul, who is out for an unknown amount out time with a foot injury. Lupul missed the last two games with a bone bruise, but Carlyle said a CT scan didn't reveal a fracture. He'll travel with the team on the road this week, while recent call-up Carter Ashton replaces him in the lineup.
Bozak, in the first year of a five-year, $21 million deal with Toronto, has three goals and six points in 11 games this season.
