One of the NHL's leading scorers this season will miss some time as St. Louis Blues forward Alexander Steen has been ruled out on Monday with an upper-body injury, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jeremy Rutherford.
Steen's injury occurred at some point during the second period of the Blues' 6-0 win in Edmonton on Saturday. He was evaluated during the second intermission and did not return for the third period. The severity of Steen's injury is unclear at this point.
Steen is enjoying a breakout season in his sixth season as a pro. His 24 goals are second-most in the league and match his previous career-high total for a single season. He's suddenly become an elite offensive threat in the league and is a big reason why the St. Louis Blues have one of the NHL's best records at 24-7-4.
