Sometimes the goalie just steals one for a team that gets badly outplayed.
Even though Dallas had a 3-0 lead at one point, and without the services of Tyler Seguin, it was hard to argue that they really ever had the upper hand in terms of play on the ice. Chicago dominated possession from the start and ended up outshooting Dallas 50-18 on the night. It was only a matter of time until the Blackhawks eventually broke through, and they did just that with three straight goals to tie the game.
But just when it appeared that they were about to complete the comeback with a win, Antoine Roussel's third period penalty shot turned out to be the game-winner for Dallas while Lehtonen was able to slam the door shut down the stretch.
Meanwhile, there is just something about Penguins and Islanders games that brings out the worst in both teams. Turnovers. Sloppy play. Blown leads. Bad goaltending. It leads to some very exciting games, but it's not always the highest quality hockey. Pittsburgh's 3-2 win on Tuesday night was a pretty good example as the Penguins managed to score three straight goals to earn the win, including Sidney Crosby's beauty in overtime.
All the NHL Scores

On Tuesday we asked you five burning questions about the days games. These are your cool, soothing answers.
1. Will teams with winning streaks extend their run?
The Penguins (now four games) and Sharks (six games) were winners, but the Chicago Blackhawks win streak came to an end at six with their 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars. Antoine Roussel getting the winner and then taunting the crowd was just kicking them while they were down.
2. Will Toronto end their four-game winless streak?
This had the look of a mismatch coming in, but the Maple Leafs managed to keep it relatively close against the San Jose Sharks but it still wasn't enough as they fell, 4-2, extending their winless streak to five games. The Maple Leafs are fading fast.
3. Will the New York Islanders allow three goals or more against the Penguins?
They did. Pittsburgh put two in on the power play to erase a 2-0 deficit and then Sidney Crosby won it overtime, splitting the Islanders defense much like he did in the playoffs last season.
4. How will the Dallas Stars perform without Tyler Seguin?
It wasn't pretty, but it got the job done. The Stars were 4-3 winners despite getting out shot 50-18. Big credit to Kari Lehtonen for stealing the show in net and holding off the high powered Blackhawks late in the game.
5. Will Evgeni Malkin jump Sidney Crosby for the league lead in scoring?
Malkin managed to tie Crosby late in the second period when he set up James Neal's power play goal, and the two remained tied when Malkin assisted on Crosby's goal to tie the game. But Crosby regained sole possession of the league lead when he scored his overtime winner.
The one play or moment from Tuesday that will be making headlines over the next couple of days.
The Columbus Blue Jackets potentially losing Sergei Bobrovsky could be a big deal for a team that's trying to hang on in the Metropolitan Division playoff race. Bobrovsky had to leave in the third period of Columbus' 1-0 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday when he appeared to injure his left leg while stopping a breakaway shot. He couldn't put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the ice. Bobrovsky hasn't been anywhere near as good as he was last season, but he was the biggest reason they remained in playoff contention a year ago. If they're going to work their way back into it this year they will probably need him to carry the team again.
Stat of the Night
How rare was the Dallas Stars' win in Chicago? It was just the seventh time since 1987-88 that a team won a game while giving up at least 50 shots in a game, and recording just 18 (or fewer) of its own.
And for a bonus stat of the night: The Los Angeles Kings attempted 100 shots against the Anaheim Ducks in their 3-2 shootout win. That is incredible.
