Lightning vs. Rangers: Brutal Matt Carle turnover leads to goal against

An exhausted Matt Carle makes a terrible mistake.

With his team already trailing 1-0, Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Matt Carle made a major error that handed the Rangers a goal.

At the end of a shift that had clearly been going on for WAAAAAY too long, Carle took a short pass from a teammate and tried to give it right back. Carle was clearly hoping that someone else on the Lightning would get the puck, and he would be able to get to the bench, have a drink, and maybe take a little nap before being asked to play any more hockey.

Unfortunately for Carle, his weak pass went straight to Ryan Callahan of the Rangers. Callahan accepted the gift pass from Carle and skated in alone, beating goalie Mathieu Garon and putting the Rangers up 2-0 late in the first period.

Look on the bright side, Matt: at least you'll get to take a rest now.

Sweet dreams, little buddy.
