The Nashville Predators (5-3-4) will host the San Jose Sharks (7-3-2) at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night.
It will mark the second of three meetings between the two teams this season.
With San Jose winning all seven of their contests in January, the club has fallen off a cliff in February by failing to register a victory in five straight games (0-3-2 over that span). Beginning with a 2-1 shootout loss to the Predators on Feb. 2, the Sharks have failed to score more than three goals in any of the five games they have played in the second month of the season.
This is in stark contrast to their ability to score four or more goals in the first five games of the season (in addition to two three-goal efforts aided by consecutive shootout victories at the end of January).
The team's struggles hit an apex on Monday night with a 6-2 loss at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Nashville will be entering the game having failed to register a victory in two straight games (0-1-1).
However, the club has hit an up-swing after a frustrating start to the season, which featured three shootout losses over the span of their frist six games. Over their last six games, the club has managed to compile four victories and registered at least one point in five-straight games before losing to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
Tuesday night's game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., ET and will be televised on CSN-CA and FS-TN.
