Five Answers

Prior to last night's games, we presented five burning questions regarding the night's action. Here are your cool, soothing answers.

1. The Rangers and Bruins meet for the third and final time on the year. Who wins the season series?

The Rangers were up 3-1 in the third period before the Bruins scored two goals with their goalie pulled to tie the game and send it to overtime. Rick Nash continued his earlier heroics and scored in the shootout, and Ryan Callahan added another to give the Rangers the victory and the 2-1 edge in the season series.

2. The Sharks need to rebound. Will they against Nashville?

Negative. The Sharks just can't get their offense going at all, and lost a very boring game to the Predators. That's six straight losses in a row for the Sharks, though they have picked up points in three of those games.

3. Can the Ducks give Chicago their first regulation loss?

The Ducks became just the third team this season to beat the Blackhawks -- but it was in a shootout. Chicago remains unbeaten in regulation.

4. Dustin Byfuglien's back in the Winnipeg lineup. How does Claude Noel use him?

From Arctic Ice Hockey:

Dustin Byfuglien played 24:24 in his return to the lineup, which was second on the Jets behind Tobias Enstrom and his 25:52. Buff didn't have a great game, but he wasn't awful.

5. Can the Lightning stop the bleeding?

Tampa Bay battled back in the third to send the game to overtime and earn a point, but ultimately lost and extended its winless streak to five games. Still, the Lightning looked solid in the third period, and could build on that effort to turn things around.

Impact Moment

What moment from last night's games will be making headlines in the coming days?

The biggest NHL moment of the night may not have come on the ice, as rumors started swirling that Ryan O'Reilly will not be returning to the Colorado Avalanche, at all. True or not, this will fuel trade speculation involving the talented young center.

Stat of the Night

Sharks goaltender Antti Niemi hasn't given up a goal in regulation in his past two games ... and he's lost both of them.
