NHL schedule 2013: Five questions for Wednesday

1. Do Kris Letang and Matt Niskanen play for Pittsburgh?

The pair was removed from the injured reserve on Wednesday afternoon, but are they healthy enough to see the lineup against the Ottawa Senators?

2. As the Blues hit the road, can they possibly turn their February around?

Here's Hildy from St. Louis Game Time talking about that very subject with Winging It In Motown:

I think that [hitting the road is good], because they won't at least be surrounded by booing Blues fans to add another element of pressure, or another reminder that they're playing terrible hockey. Of course, because the scheduling gods are awesome people, the first road game has to be against the Red Wings.

3. Can Dallas win the back half of a back-to-back?

Via Defending Big D:

Dallas will hope to continue their on-the-road scoring trend tonight in Calgary, but must defeat the elephant in the room as their 1-14-2 stretch on the second night of back-to-backs over the last two season once again rears its ugly head.

"Do I know the number? Yeah, I think we all do," backup netminder Richard Bachman told media Tuesday. "But as far as back-to-back, I don't think about it. It's not going to change how I perform or how I play. I want to win every game I play, so that's how I approach each game."

4. Can Pittsburgh rebound from a rough weekend?

Getting Letang and Niskanen would help, but the Devils rough Pittsburgh up in a home-and-home over the weekend and there's definitely some concern in the Steel City. They need scoring from more than just Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

5. Will Detroit get scoring from all four lines as they did last time against the Blues?

Detroit's going the opposite way of St. Louis, winners of three straight compared to losers of five straight. One of those St. Louis losses was a week ago, a 5-1 spanking at the hands of the Wings, where all five goals came from the bottom of the Red Wings lineup. Can Detroit replicate that against the struggling Blues?
