Forgettable all around.
It all started with Dallas' power play goal at the beginning of the second period. It's not easy to be responsible for one goal twice, but Stajan appeared to do just that. As Stephane Robidas attempted to keep the puck in the offensive zone, Stajan lunged forward to...lay a hit on him? Not sure what he was trying to do but he ended up missing Robidas and getting a stiff arm in the face. Seconds later he threw his body at Jamie Benn, only for Benn to sidestep him completely and set up Brenden Morrow's goal. I mean, let's commend his effort here. He's certainly willing to sacrifice the body for his team.
Then he had what looked like a scary collision with Ryan Garbutt while trying to make a play on the puck. Luckily Stajan was unhurt.
But his nightmarish period wasn't over. Late in the period he was called for hooking on Jaromir Jagr. His trip to the box helped set up a 5-on-3 when Dennis Wideman was sent off for an illegal hand pass. The defeat on his face was priceless.
Despite Stajan's best sabotage efforts, the Flames succeeded in widening the gap between themselves and the Stars. It's 6-4 midway through the 3rd.
