Tom Szczerbowski-US PRESSWIRE

The Carolina Hurricanes (7-4-1) will host the Toronto Maple Leafs (8-5-0) at PNC Arena on Thursday night.

It will mark the second of three meetings between the teams this season.

Carolina managed to earn a 4-1 win when the teams last met at the start of February. The Hurricanes managed to produce two power-play goals on the four-man advantages they were afforded, while holding the Maple Leafs scoreless on five power-play chances.

Matt Frattin scored the lone Toronto goal, while Eric Staal, Jordan Staal, Justin Faulk and Patrick Dwyer combined for the four Carolina scores. Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner registered a game-high three assists.

James Reimer was pegged with the loss and allowed four goals on 39 shots, while Cam Ward managed to stop 41 of 42 shots faced.

Heading into Thursday night, the Leafs are riding a four-game winning streak, which began immediately following the loss to the Hurricanes.

After allowing four goals to Carolina, Toronto has held its opponents to two goals or fewer over the course of the extended winning streak. In addition, the club has scored three goals or more in each game and has outscored opponents by a margin of 17-6.

Carolina enters the night on a two-game winning streak and has managed to register points in five consecutive games.

Since the start of February, the Hurricanes have scored three goals or more in six of the seven games they have played in the season's second month. With the exception of a regulation loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, the club has registered points in every game this month.

Over the course of their five-game point streak, the club has outscored opponents by a margin of 24-18.

Thursday night's game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., ET and will be televised on FS-CR and Leafs TV.
