Kari Lehtonen injury: Goaltender unlikely to return with lower body injury

This could be horrible news for the Stars.

Stars fans all over are now either holding their breath or crying right now as they await news on Kari Lehtonen's injury.

The netminder seemingly reinjured his groin in the first period against the Vancouver Canucks when Jordan Schroeder came barreling in through center and ripped a shot on net. The shot struck Lehtonen's blocker with some significant force, knocking his stick out of his hand. Lehtonen seemed to overextend himself lunging for the puck, and he immediately waved toward the bench and pointed at his groin area. The refs blew the whistle, Lehtonen skated to the bench and removed himself from the hockey game. Richard Bachman replaced him.

It's impossible to understate how devastating a loss this could be for the Stars, who rely on their No. 1 goaltender for success more than most of the teams in the league. If it is indeed a groin injury, it could keep Lehtonen out of the net for a few weeks. All that is confirmed, however, is this:
