Two teams on a losing streak face off on Saturday afternoon on NHL Network.
The Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Florida Panthers on Saturday afternoon, with both teams aiming to end a lengthy losing streak.
The Lightning have fallen out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 0-5-1 slide, with Tampa Bay falling to the Washington Capitals on Thursday and allowing the division rivals to pull to within two points. Tampa Bay has developed a habit of getting down by three to four goals early in games before attempting to roar back.
The highest scoring team in the NHL also has gone just 2-for-18 on the power play during the losing streak, with Steven Stamkos notching just two points in the past five games.
The Florida Panthers have gone on a three-game skid of their own, including overtime losses to the Capitals and Canadiens. This has been a rocky season so far from the Panthers after their postseason appearance last year, seemingly recovered from a five-game losing streak to start the season before this last slump.
Florida has been shutout twice in three games and are just No. 25 in the NHL with 2.23 goals per game.
