Leafs vs. Panthers: Komarov called for diving twice

Stay on your feet, rookie.

It's time for Dustin Brown's favorite subject: Diving!

Leafs rookie Leo Komarov is giving Dustin Brown a run for his money in the diving category tonight, getting called for falling too easily twice in one game.

In the second period of this tilt between the Maple Leafs and Panthers, Brian Campbell was called for interference on Komarov. Interestingly, Komarov was given an unsportsmanlike diving penalty for apparently going down too easily.

It seems like Tweetland overwhelmingly agrees with the call, but I'm not so sure. Campbell's interference had him going down anyway. Although Komarov's head snapped back on the play, it didn't seem like it was blatant enough to earn a diving call.

Maybe I'm just not seeing what everyone else is seeing. Either way, Komarov didn't put up much of a protest and the two penalties didn't result in a goal for either side.

Not to be outdone by himself, Komarov got himself in trouble with the refs again near the end of the frame. Erik Gudbranson, miffed about a missed boarding call seconds earlier, cross-checked Komarov at center ice and the rookie went limp and fell to the ice dramatically. He ended up back in the box again.

C'mon, kid. Stay upright.
