The St. Louis Blues (9-5-1) will host the San Jose Sharks (7-4-3) at Scottrade Center on Tuesday night.
It will mark the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.
February has been a rough month for both teams.
After the Blues opened the season with an impressive 6-1-0 record in January, the team lost its first five games in the season's second month (0-4-1). However, the Blues have quickly improved that rocky start by registering victories in their last three games, which began with an overtime win against the division rival Detroit Red Wings.
With a victory on Tuesday night, St. Louis would match their longest winning streak of the season, which spanned four games from Jan. 24-31.
However, the Blues were stranded in Vancouver's airport for at least eight hours on Monday night while waiting on a plane back to St. Louis. Whether that has any impact on Tuesday's game remains to be seen.
San Jose is still looking for a breakthrough from their extended downswing.
After winning all seven of their contests in January, the club has matched that mark by dropping all seven of their games in February (0-4-3). Having scored at least three goals in every game in the season's opening month, the Sharks have managed more than two goals only once over the course of their last seven.
In addition, the club has been held to one goal or less on five occasions during that span.
The Blues will have five players carrying point streaks into Tuesday night. Patrik Berglund (three goals), T.J. Oshie (one goal, three assists), Chris Stewart (one goal, three assists) and David Backes (three assists) have all registered points in their last three games. David Perron (two goals and an assist) has registered points in his last two games.
The Sharks don't have any active point streaks carrying into the contest.
The referee's for the game are expected to be Tim Peel and Gord Dwyer, while David Brisebois and Matt MacPherson will act as the linesmen.
Tuesday night's game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be televised on TSN2, NBCSN and CSN-CA.
