The injuries just keep coming for Ottawa, this time to perhaps their most important player.
Craig Anderson is enjoying a red-hot start this season. He currently has a record of 8-4-2, a save percentage of .950, and a flabberghasting GAA of 1.57. With those numbers, it's no surprise that many have mentioned him as an early favorite for the Vezina trophy - or even the Hart as the league's MVP.
Anderson has been absolutely critical to the success of the Senators thus far this season, and seeing him leave the game early in the third period Thursday night has to have Senators fans feeling blue - especially since they have already lost their best defenseman for the season and have been without one of their best forwards for an extended stretch.
These are tough times for Ottawa fans.
Anderson's injury occurred when Rangers forward Chris Kreider appeared to slip and crash into Anderson early in the third period. Anderson did not return to the game, and was replaced by backup Ben Bishop.
The Senators later announced that Anderson had suffered a sprained ankle. He is listed as day-to-day
