Maple Leafs vs. Flyers: Mike Brown rips Tye McGinn's jersey and face

A wild fight in the first period did some damage to McGinn.

Late in the first period of a scoreless game between the Leafs and Flyers, Toronto's Mike Brown and Philadelphia's Tye McGinn squared off for a bout near center ice. After an enthusiastic exchange of wild swings, McGinn ended up with a cut on his face and a torn sleeve on his jersey.

The Leafs scored the game's first goal shortly after the fight, supporting the argument from those who believe in fighting to fire up your team and create momentum. Whether or not the Leafs would have scored regardless of the fight is a question we won't know the answer to until I finish building my machine that will allow us to observe parallel universes.

I'll hurry, but it might take a little while.
