Five Answers

Prior to last night's games, we presented five burning questions regarding the night's action. Here are your cool, soothing answers.

1. Will the Chicago Blackhawks extend their point streak to 19 games?

Amazingly, they did it. They trailed the Oilers for much of the game, but the Blackhawks scored the only goal of the third period to tie the game 2-2, and hung on to get to overtime. Once their point streak was safely extended, the Blackhawks celebrated with a game-winning goal from Marian Hossa.

2. How will James van Riemsdyk fare in his return to Philadelphia?

JVR didn't score, had a single shot on net, and took two penalties late in the third period. He was also a target for the Flyers all night, as the Philadelphia players made sure to finish all their checks on their former teammate.

3. Will Jakub Voracek extend his five-game point streak?

Voracek was involved in both Flyers goals, with a goal and an assist. His team still lost, though, so I guess he should have tried scoring five points.

4. Will the Nashville Predators score a goal against the Dallas Stars?

They didn't score a goal ... they scored five! A solid response offensively from Nashville after being shut out in their previous two games.

5. Will the Anaheim Ducks extend their winning streak to seven games?

The Ducks were trounced by the Kings, 5-2, helped in part by the first bad game of Viktor Fasth's NHL career.

Impact Moment

What moment from last night's games will be making headlines in the coming days?

For the first time in what seems like ages, a night passed in the NHL without any major injuries or suspension-worthy offenses, leaving the hockey world free to talk about what a moron Eddie Olczyk is.
