NHL schedule, starting goalies for Tuesday: Blackhawks, Sharks battle for early season supremacy

Jonathan Daniel

With 10 games scheduled for Tuesday night, the battle between the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks for first place will take center stage.

There are 10 games on tap in the NHL on Tuesday night, with the nationally televised contest between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia Flyers appearing on NBC Sports Network.

In addition to Philadelphia, the rest of the Atlantic Division will also be in action, as the New Jersey Devils host the New York Rangers for the first time since last season's Eastern Conference Final and the New York Islanders face the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second time this season.

Other division matchups will include the Ottawa Senators hosting the Buffalo Sabres, the Florida Panthers facing the Winnipeg Jets and the Nashville Predators against the St. Louis Blues.

While Philadelphia and Tampa Bay might have the national spotlight, the headlining event will come in the contest between the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks. The two teams have the most points in the NHL entering Tuesday night, with Chicago leading San Jose by a single digit.
