1. Who's on top of the Western Conference at the end of the night?

The Blackhawks won the matchup between the top two teams in the NHL, and handed the Sharks their third straight loss. Chicago benefited from an awful call by the officials midway through the game, and scored the game winner 4 on 4 when the Sharks should have been enjoying a powerplay.

The match penalty given to Andrew Desjardins on the play was rescinded after the game, but that's no consolation for San Jose.

2. At 7:53 p.m. ET, what will Leafs fans be doing?

Celebrating! Leafs fans can be happy because, at least for now, there are still teams in the NHL more incompetent than them.

3. Will Matt Carle strike back at Philadelphia fans?

Carle was one of the leaders for the Lightning in ice time with almost twenty three minutes played, but the Flyers held Tampa Bay to just a single goal on the night, and Carle was a minus one. Not a very impressive return to Philadelphia for Carle.

4. How does J.T. Miller perform in his NHL debut?

He didn't embarrass himself. Miller was a plus-one, and saw significant time on the power play. Overall it's safe to say he's better at hockey than T.J. Miller, the defenseman for the Devils, or T.J. Miller, the comedian -- but exactly how much better than those guys he is remains to be seen.

5. Will Jonathan Quick bounce back vs. Columbus?

The Blue Jackets were thoroughly dominated by the Kings all night long, including a second period in which Los Angeles out-shot Columbus seventeen to two. Quick didn't need to be spectacular, but his eighteen saves on twenty shots were good enough.

Impact Moment

What moment from Tuesday night's games will be making headlines in the coming days?

Brandon Dubinsky probably deserves a suspension for his hit on Rob Scuderi, so that's bad news for Columbus, who may lose one of their leading scorers for a few games. Granted, Dubinsky only has four points on the year, but remember that the Blue Jackets aren't a very good team at all.

Stat of the Night

The Sharks and Blackhawks scored four combined goals in eighty-nine seconds in the first period. That was the fastest four combined goals since October 15th, 1983, when Chicago and Toronto scored four in fifty-three seconds.
