Will Brenden Shanahan take a closer look at this Leafs-Canadiens game?
So the Leafs beat the Canadiens in a 6-0 bloodbath, and Montreal just looked lost defensively all night long.
But what everyone is talking about right now are two incidents that happened late in the game as things got testy between the two clubs.
The first is a scrum behind the net involving Mikhail Grabovski, Max Pacioretty and Brandon Prust. All three received roughing minors and game misconducts, but the big question is whether Grabovski will receive further punishment for allegedly biting Pacioretty's wrist. Video and screenshot below:
Even with that evidence it's still really, really hard to tell whether or not Grabovski actually clamped down on Pacioretty's hand. You've gotta wonder whether that will be the determining factor in whether any suspension gets handed down or not.
But what Colton Orr did was less murky. Upset about a previous incident, Orr decided to take a run at the nearest Montreal player and made what was nearly knee-on-knee sideswipe on Tomas Plekanec, leading to a scuffle between Brian Gionta and Orr, and a full-on fight between Frazer McLaren and Josh Gorges. Plekanec should thank his lucky stars he still has a knee after the close call.
