NHL schedule: Five questions for Friday

A daily feature which asks the five hardest-hitting questions imaginable about this day in the NHL. Will our quandaries be answered? (That doesn't count as one of the five questions.)

1. Will the Chicago Blackhawks extend their point-streak to 21 games?

Once again, you knew this was coming. The Blackhawks defeated the St. Louis Blues, 3-0 on Thursday night. They have won seven-straight games and have gone 20 games without a regulation loss, the longest such streak to start a season. Will it be extended to 21?

2. Will Ray Emery remain unbeaten this season?

Emery has compiled an 8-0-0 record this season. While the Blackhawks point-streak can be extended with an overtime loss, Emery's unbeaten streak can't.

3. Will the Anaheim Ducks extend their seven-game winning streak at home?

The Ducks haven't lost a game at home since Jan. 25 and have defended home ice in the seven games they have played since. While the Blackhawks have received the majority of the attention this year (and rightfully so), Anaheim has managed to sustain their early season success over the first two months of the season. The Ducks will enter Friday night with a seven-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings for first place in the Pacific Division.

4. Will the Minnesota Wild pull even with the Vancouver Canucks?

Despite early-season inconsistencies, Minnesota is on the verge of tying the Canucks for most points in the Northwest Division. Winners of two straight, the Wild have won four of their last five games. While Vancouver will still hold the top spot because they have played fewer games, a win on Friday night could be the first step for the Wild to take over the division lead.

5. Will the St. Louis Blues continue their four-game point-streak against the Northwest Division?

The Blues have compiled a 3-0-1 record against the Northwest Division this season. Having played four of the grouping's five teams already, St. Louis has recorded at least one point in each game. On Friday, they will play the Edmonton Oilers for the first time this season. Can they continue their impressive run against Northwest opponents?
