Hurricanes vs. Capitals: Joe Corvo scores off Braden Holtby's mask

Well, that's one way to score a goal.

I'll admit, when I was watching this play unfold the last thing I expected was a goal. And yet, Lady Luck was on Joe Corvo's side tonight.

Corvo got the first goal of the game for Carolina on Tuesday night when his shot from a severe angle banked off of Braden Holtby's mask, bounced between his legs and slipped behind him into the net. It gave Carolina an early 1-0 lead and completely silenced the Washington crowd. I mean, the first thing I thought of was an empty hotel lobby. The Canes are one of the hotter teams in the league right now, and I suppose that lucky things like that are what happens when things are going your way.
