Senators vs. Sabres: Kyle Turris ends slump, nets overtime winner

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Turris hadn't scored in 21 games before Saturday.

Good news for players with goal-scoring droughts: the end is near!

On Friday, Pavel Datsyuk scored in overtime for the first time in 13 games. Kyle Turris, goalless in 21 games, scored twice on Saturday to give the Senators a 4-3 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Turris' second goal was the game winner. After Christian Ehrhoff was sent off for interfering with Mika Zibanejad, the Senators were given two minutes to do whatever they damn well pleased in the Sabres' offensive zone. To Buffalo's credit, they blocked a good amount of shots and could see the light at the end of the tunnel. But then Daniel Alfredsson got Tyler Myers to bite and dished off to Turris, who roofed the puck just over Ryan Miller's right shoulder to end the game.

With seven goals, Turris finally is the first Senator to surpass Erik Karlsson's team-leading six goals.
