Krejci took a shot to the knee late in Sunday's game.
Pittsburgh's Kris Letang wasn't the only one to leave Sunday's Bruins-Penguins game with an injury. Late in the third period, Boston forward David Krejci took a slapshot to the knee and left the game.
Krejci was trying to provide a screen on Penguins goalie Tomas Vokoun when he was injured. Boston's Johnny Boychuk fired a slapshot towards the net, and the puck hit a jumping Krejci directly in the right knee, sending him down to the ice in pain. Boston's trainer came out to attend to Krejci, who was eventually helped off the ice. Krejci didn't put any weight on his injured leg while leaving the ice.
Krejci is a major part of the Bruins offense. He has seven goals and 17 assists, and is second on the team in total points behind Patrice Bergeron.
Boston's next game is against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. Following the game, coach Claude Julien wouldn't say whether he expected Krejci to be able to play in that contest.
