NHL schedule and starting goalies: It's rivalry Sunday on NBC

Elsa

Nine games on the schedule again for the NHL, with the Blackhawks and Red Wings kicking things off on NBC.

While NBC may herald "Rivalry Wednesday" as the big night hockey each week for the best games, Sunday could prove to be just as entertaining.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings square off on NBC to start the busy schedule on Sunday, in a game between two rivals that will likely no longer be in the same division after this season. The Red Wings will also fight to be the first team to beat Chicago in regulation this season, with the Blackhawks 18-0-3 on the season and seeming nearly unstoppable.

The Blues and Stars face off between two past and future divisional opponents in Dallas this afternoon, to be picked up nationally on NHL Network.

The Canadiens and Bruins then battle it out in Boston for the top spot in the Eastern Conference in what has been perhaps the more entertaining rivalry over the years for hockey.
