NHL schedule and starting goalies: Blackhawks, Red Wings on NBC

A relatively light schedule in the NHL on Sunday that starts off with a big Central Division matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks on NBC.

Just five games on the schedule for the NHL on Sunday, although most matchups feature some very significant playoff picture ramifications.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings will play the second to last game between the two teams as Central Division rivals, with the Red Wings set to join the Eastern Conference next season as part of the NHL's new realignment plan. Puck is set to drop at 12:30 p.m. ET with coverage on NBC.

The Dallas Stars, desperately holding on to playoff hopes in the No. 9 spot in the West, welcomes the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday as they continue to count down the days to the NHL Trade Deadline.

The Buffalo Sabres, technically, are not completely out of the playoff race. Facing what is reported to be a sell-off strategy at the deadline, the Sabres now face the Boston Bruins -- a team that prompted a number of the moves made by Buffalo over the past several seasons.
