Jason Arnott visits St. Louis Blues

The veteran center could be back with the Blues if his practices with the team this week go well.

The St. Louis Blues are considering bringing back veteran center Jason Arnott. The team is dealing with injuries to Alex Steen, Andy McDonald and Vladimir Tarasenko, which has left them short-handed. Arnott played for the Blues last season, but hasn't been able to find a job in the NHL this year. He'll practice with St. Louis on their current road trip, which runs through March 10, as a tryout of sorts.

"[Arnott's] going to join us this week on the road trip, make sure his body is with his mind and that he is ready to play," said Blues general manager Doug Armstrong. "He did have some offseason surgery. We have information from the doctors that he is ready to go."

Arnott had 17 goals and 17 assists in 72 games for the Blues last season. Over the course of his NHL career, he has scored 417 goals.
