Hossa was a very late scratch for Chicago.
Marian Hossa participated in warm-ups for the Chicago Blackhawks prior to their game against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday, but was unexpectedly scratched from the lineup just prior to the start. The Blackhawks will try to keep their record point streak alive without one of their most talented offensive players.
After the game was underway, the team announced that Hossa was out due to an "upper-body injury." Dan Carcillo took Hossa's spot on Chicago's top line.
The Blackhawks were also without winger Michael Frolik for the game, as he is day-to-day with the flu.
Chicago has two regular roster players out of the lineup AND they played last night...could this be the combination of misfortunes that finally puts an end to their streak?
