Talk about a roller-coaster Friday night for NHL goaltenders. Minutes after Devan Dubnyk gave up one of the worst goals of the season, Jacob Markstrom made a wonderful stop that easily could be counted as one of the year's best saves.
Markstrom was pretty much dead to rights on this play, a 2-on-1 breakaway for the Jets' Blake Wheeler and James Wright. Wheeler, content with his previous goal in the first period, set up a one-timer for Wright past the Florida defender. However Wright was caught drifting, allowing Markstrom to get over in time to make a brilliant glove save on the shot to keep his team in the hunt, down by only one goal.
